Visit

We are an idiosyncratic private house turned museum, in a residential neighbourhood. We have restrictions from the council on when we are allowed to open and the number of visitors at any time, so please ensure you book a ticket in advance.

We are closed from January until May 2024.

Tickets for when we reopen will be announced at the mid-spring.

Opening Times

The Cosmic House is currently open Wednesday to Friday, 12:30 pm to 5.00 pm. Tickets must be purchased in advance. A maximum of 15 visitors are allowed in the house at one time.

Please arrive only a few minutes before your allotted time. You will be able to sit on the exterior amphitheatre steps in front of the entrance.

Please be aware we have some restrictions on visiting, including no under 12s, and a steep spiral staircase.

Photography

Photography is permitted and encouraged inside the Cosmic House. Flash photography, tripods, selfie sticks and large cameras are not allowed. We welcome sketching or drawing and the taking of notes anywhere in the house.

Coats, Luggage & Footwear

We have very limited space for storing coats and baggage, please only bring a minimum of belongings. We cannot allow large backpacks or bags to be worn inside the house.

Due to delicate flooring, high heeled shoes are not allowed. Please wear appropriate footwear for your visit.

Refunds & Cancellations

If it's less than 2 weeks until your visit, your ticket cannot be refunded or exchanged.

Please email info@thecosmichouse.org for all booking enquiries.

Please note that the garden may close due to weather conditions

Where we are

19 Lansdowne Walk
London W11 3AH

The Cosmic House is in Holland Park, an area long associated with architects and artists. It has a rich legacy of radical houses, including the homes of Sir Frederick Leighton, William Burges, Linley Sambourne and others designed by Arts and Crafts architects Richard Norman Shaw and Phillip Webb.

Tube

The house is a five-minute walk from Holland Park Underground Station on the Central Line.

Bus

Buses 31, 94, 148 and 248 stop near the house.

Bike

There are no bike stands at the house, but there is bike parking at the Holland Park Underground Station.

Car

The Cosmic House is in the Congestion Charging zone and there are some limited parking spaces with parking meters nearby.

Accessibility

We welcome visitors with disabilities but there are stairs both at the entrances and throughout the house so not every part of the interior will be accessible to all. Regretfully, due to layout, the house is inaccessible for wheelchairs. Please let us know about any special requirements in advance and we’ll try to make your visit as enjoyable as possible.
